Charities / Community Involvement

  • Both owners of the company, Damien & Kirsty Keyes are on the founding committee of the North QLD Jelly Baby Ball which raises funds for, and is endorsed by, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) to help find a cure for type 1 diabetes. Our son, Hugo, was diagnosed at just 3 years of age and it has changed our family’s life forever. In the six months that followed the diagnosis we met and formed bonds with other parents in the same situation and before long our passionate committee was formed and our journey to try and find a cure began. In the black tie event’s first three years (2011, 2012 & 2013) just over $285,000 has been raised for JDRF. Damien is the events M.C. & Auctioneer and Kirsty is Co-President of the organising committee & financial secretary for the charity event.
